John received his BA from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was a founding member of "Pacific Ties," which is now the oldest student-run Asian Pacific Islander Desi American newsmagazine in the nation. John received his law degree from the University of California, Davis (King Hall).
John started practicing law in Orange County. He then worked in the securities industry, where he obtained FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses (inactive). He re-entered business law practice in the West LA/Beverly Hills area. John later joined with Mark Priver to form Ohashi & Priver, which provided corporate/business and litigation services. Mark Priver retired and John has been a sole practitioner since then continuing his business law practice, although he works with a network of attorneys who provide legal services to complement John’s business law practice.
John speaks on business law and ADR topics for CLE programs and professional conferences. He has presented numerous programs in the securities industry on both the “investor side” and “industry side.”

John is married with two children and lives in Irvine, CA.
